Octopia
Fulfillment as a service
When growth and product value are deeply intrecated.
Octopia provides B2B e-commerce and logistics solutions, helping marketplaces and merchants manage their operations at scale. As the company consolidated its services into a unified platform, the challenge was to design consistent, intuitive experiences across increasingly complex operational workflows. My role was to translate business requirements and user needs into actionable product experiences, with a particular focus on shipment tracking and order management.

DESIGN PROBLEM

Octopia was consolidating its fulfillment services into a unified B2B platform.
From product referencing and order management to shipment tracking, returns, invoicing and account management, the platform needed to support a wide range of complex logistics operations.
As the sole Product Designer on FaaS, I was responsible for translating functional requirements into coherent user experiences across the entire product.
The challenge was to make complex operational processes understandable and usable while working within an established design system and a predefined product roadmap.
RESULTS
End-to-end coverage
Designed user flows and interfaces across the FaaS platform’s main operational workflows.
Cross-device consistency
Adapted complex interfaces to desktop, tablet and mobile contexts.
Implementation-ready designs
Delivered detailed interfaces and interaction states within the existing design system.
USE CASE
Turning fragmented operational requirements into coherent, scalable user experiences.
Challenge
Designing an entire product experience within fixed constraints.
As Octopia expanded its fulfillment offering, its platform needed to accommodate increasingly complex logistics operations.
Product requirements and priorities were defined upstream, with limited opportunities for direct user research.
My responsibility was to design usable solutions within these constraints, ensuring that each workflow remained understandable while fitting into the broader product ecosystem.
Problem
Complex operations require more than complex interfaces.
Fulfillment workflows involve numerous entities, dependencies and exceptional cases.
A single order can include multiple shipments, carriers, parcels and delivery statuses. Returns introduce additional processes, while product referencing and financial operations require entirely different interaction patterns.
The challenge was to organize this complexity without creating unnecessary cognitive load.
How might we help users navigate complex operational workflows while maintaining consistency across the entire platform?
